Scott Earnest, PhD, PE, CSP, Director, NIOSH Office of Construction Safety and Health will provide an introduction and Dr. Margaret Kitt, MPH, MD, Deputy Director at NIOSH, will share information on what we know about the current COVID-19 vaccines, when and & how construction workers can get vaccinated, and address your questions.

Kitt, MD, MPH (Deputy Director @National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) Dr Margaret Kitt is the Deputy Director at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) in the United States. She shares with the NIOSH Director the responsibility for the Institute’s research and program operations and oversees the NIOSH Global Health Programs. Dr. Kitt is an Occupational Medicine Physician and has worked for NIOSH since 2002. She worked at the NIOSH Division of Respiratory Disease Studies and led the NIOSH Emergency Preparedness and Response Office before assuming her current position. She was a Senior Flight Surgeon in the U.S. Air Force, serving for 14 years and then spent 16 years in the United States Public Health Service, retiring in 2018 at the rank of Rear Admiral. Dr Kitt is currently the Team Lead for the Essential Workers Team as part of the Vaccine Implementation Unit within the CDC COVID-19 Vaccine Task Force.
