The NIOSH Center for Direct Reading and Sensor Technologies (NCDRST) promotes a mindful adoption of sensors, advanced monitoring technologies, and improved methodologies for occupational health and safety and workers’ wellbeing. These technologies can rapidly generate a large amount of quality data from different sources.
NCDRST will host a public webinar featuring distinguished professionals with experience using sensors and transforming data from these sensors. Åse Dalseth Austigard, a Certified Occupational Hygienist at the Municipality of Trondheim, Norway, will present on the interaction of workers and gas sensor monitors. Dr. William Mills, an Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering Technology at Northern Illinois University, will present on the development and deployment of a low-cost indoor environmental quality monitoring and control system. And Corrine Balcaen, the Director of Occupational Health & Hygiene for Canada’s Teck Resources, will present on real-time particulate monitoring for occupational hygiene.
A round table session with the professionals and the leaders of NCDRST will follow. Industrial and occupational hygienists, data analysts, and anyone in the health and safety community interested in sensors will benefit from attending this webinar.
